Hello all PC experts. I need some advice. I am trying to run an MS-WINDOWS (3.1) app. This app. enables me to add my own C++ code. The app. has a COMPILE button. Whem I hit this button, it attempts to generate an executable from its own modules + mine. To perform this task the app. uses a make.mak file that came with it (and which I modified to suit my needs/environment). When I tried the COMPILE option, everything went OK until the C++ compiler attmpted to execute the LINK operation in the make file. The linker aborted with the "out of memory" message. I used Norton Utilities (Ver. 8) to monitor the resources. Here are the monitor's readings BEFORE I started my app. and DURING the problematic link phase: RESOURCE BEFORE RUN DURING LINK GDI (%) 78 70 USER (%) 80 74 HANDLES (%) 91 89 FILES 8 21 (40 allocated in config.sys) MEMORY (WINDOWS) (MB)>9 >9 I use a ZEOS 486 50MHz IBM PC compatible with 8MB RAM. The C++ compiler is Borland C++ Ver. 4 on CD-ROM. My questions are: - Are the resources BEFORE run reasonable (this is the initial state as windows launches)? - Are the resources DURING run too low? They seem OK to me. - What's the problem? Any advice, ideas etc.? Any help appreciated. Thanks Moshe
