I have encountered a problem with the "DDERequest" procedure from
MS-Test's DDE dynamic link library. I'm using the command to communicate
with a self-developed application acting as the DDE server.
This application accepts a series of requests, most of them work together
well with the TestBasic client.
However, a few requests (although processed correctly by the server) constantly
result in a runtime error ("A request for a synchronous data transaction has
timed out"). I have executed these requests from other client applications 
successfully, even a WordBasic implementation worked alright.

The code sample below shows one of the faulty DDE requests:

result$  = string$(16," ")             ' data buffer
itemstr$ = "Person.numKbz.isSelAt[1]"  ' asks the server, whether a specific
                                       ' line (#1) of a multi-line screen 
                                       ' item ("numKbz") is selected or not

dummy%   = DdeRequest(_GLOB_DDE_HANDLE, itemstr$, result$, len(result$), 
                      CF_TEXT)



Environment: 

Compaq Deskpro XL 590 PC, Windows 3.1, MS-Test v3.00a



QUESTION:

I would like to know if there are any known DDE-conversation related problems 
with MS-TestBasic and even more how to get rid of them.
