using ActiveX in DLL fails

I produced a dialog in a DLL using VC 5.0 and the dialog has an ActiveX
control (Calendar Control 8.0) inside. The dialog can not be created by an
executable created by Delphi 3.0, with error message:
>>>CoCreateInstance of OLE control {8E27c92b.....} failed
>>>Result code : 0x800401f0
>>> Is the control is properly registered?
Can anybody give me a solution?
I do not have problem to pop up the dialog with an executable created by VC
5.0 (with support of Automation AND ActiveX controls).
Thanks in advance.

A call to CoInitialize() in the DLL initialization routine should help.
hope this helps, Andreas

Maybe you just didn't initialize COM [CoInitialize(...)].
I never had problems creating controls within controls from DLL's, pure SDK
programs (written in plain C) or console programs.
It should work from Delphi, too.

Then MFC initializes COM itself.
