Hi, I must read the serial port in one application and I would like to be able to change and select some options on my main window (which is a dialog box). If I run (with a button) the function that reads the serial port then there is no way to operate on the main dialog box due that the process is busy on reading the serial port. I thought creating a MODELESS dialog box and launching from there the function which reads the port I would overtake the problem, but it does NOT do what I wanted. Again, I've got my main dialog box block until the read finishes. I see two options now, one is trying to do the read as a non-overlapped way, and the other is to use Threads (using TThread) I guess... Could someone indicate if there is another way to solve this problem? If the above two options are the most valid, could I have any good example of using TThread ?? Thanks in advance, Enrique BLANCO
