Hi all, I am using the winsock for Visual Basic 6.0. The program that I am debugging, request about 367 lines of ASCII data from a UNIX server. Each line ends with a linefeed character and the data is terminated by a NULL (0). I am able to use windump to demonstrate that the PC (Client machine) receives all the required data from the server. However, the client VB program just seem to have problem getting all the server data. I have noticed that a call to GetData returns more than one TCP packet. The VB Program seems to able to get all the data from the server if the last byte of the data returned by GetData ends in a linefeed character. If there are more characters after the last linefeed from GetData then the VB Progam just cannot retrieve the reminding TCP packets even though windump indicates that all the data has arrived. Is there something that I need to adjust? Is this a problem with the receive buffer of winsock as supplied by VB 6?
