Dear Windows Programmers:

I'd like to fool around with animation of 3-D figures under
Windows. I'm looking for source code if it exists. I'd like
to be able to do the following:

Make a number like "5" into a 3-D figure and then zoom in on it
from different angles or rotate it around the three axes at
different speeds. It should also some mechanism for shading
when the light is coming from a specified direction.

Is there is a good book for such routines? Books or software
with good documentation would be great.
