I am looking for Yacc and Lex for Windows programming. I know there are
byacc, bison, and flex for DOS. But do they work if I incorporate the code
they generate into a Windows application or Windows DLL?
Do such tools exist (commercially or in public domain)? Any information is
greatly appreciated.

Currently, I am looking at porting Allan Holub's LeX and occs to versions that will do the above. It's _very_ well documented (a big book) and it's the one I have with me here in Kiev, Ukraine -- and, to be frank, I'm bored. If anyone knows if A. Holub has a net address, I'd appreciate it. If he allows and if I complete the task, I could post results to some archive site. [ He might not -- he charges $60 for source on disk. ] -- Scott McLoughlin [ This cutesy message intentionally left blank. ]

We have recently purchased PCYACC 4.0 from Abraxas Software, Inc. I haven't
had the time to try it out with Windows yet, but according to the docs
this version works with Windows 3.1, standard and DPMI.
The package also comes with PCLEX, and the "Professional" version (which we
bought) comes with complete grammars, lexical analyzers and symbol table
management for several languages including:
ANSI C
K&R C
ISO Pascal
FORTRAN
dBASE III/Plus and IV
SQL
C++ (1.0 and 2.0)
Smalltalk-80
APPLE HyperTalk
C&M Prolog
YACC
LEX
FORTRAN-77
COBOL
ADA
VHDL
GW-BASIC
SGML
ASN
RPG
PL1
DCA
POSTSCRIPT
The DOS Professional version is $495,-; Personal version (only ANSI C grammar
included) $249,-.

I'm in no way affiliated with Abraxas, and, like I said, have not done much
with PCYACC yet, but at least the first impression of the package is good.
