Can anybody help me out here?
I want to make a Property Sheet Handler for the Windows shell.
Why is it that GUID's generated with GUIDGEN.EXE, like
{18b06a20-7B3a-11d2-b1c3-bd6b4f98a304}, don't work? The property sheet
simply doesn't appear.
But when i take a GUID from an existing (Microsoft Journal) example like
{8e3e0f0a-0fcc-11ce-bcb0-b3fd0e25381a}, all goes well!
What is the difference? Are there certain classes of GUID's for certain
applications? Do i need a special version of GUIDGEN.EXE or UUIDGEN.EXE? I
use the Borland version shipped with Borland C++ 5.02.
Any help would be appreciated.

Probably because you forgot to change the GUID in both the sample
application and in the registry. The two have to match. The one
in the registry says, "Use this program to handle this GUID", and
the one in the program says, "Hey program, your job is to handle
this GUID".
Never, ever recycle somebody else's guid. The "U" in GUID stands
for "unique".

You hit the nail right on the head! I didn't take the same GUID in the
application.
This was the only reaction i got, but it's really the one i needed.
Thanks very much.
