Hello, Here's my problem: I can't seem to correctly use a resource file in my program. I use BCB4 (unfortunately, you most likely won't be able to help me if you don't use that) and have tried to compile Charles Petzold's source for his menus in windows. Unfortunately, the book is more geared towards VC++ (which I don't have/use). If you've successfully used a .rc file in BCB4 I would LOVE to have your help! Thanks so much, Brian

I don't have the latest version of the book, but as far as I know
it doesn't target any particular compiler. He uses plain C and the
Windows API. Perhaps he supplies make files for VC++ on the
disc, but that's not the only way to build the project. You should
be able to just drop the *.c & *.rc files onto your BCB project
and then 'build'. Then again, I don't use BCB either, but it
can't be that much different from BC++ 5 (which I use).
What is the specific problem you are having? Are you having
problems adding the .rc to the project? Is BCB refusing to
compile it? Is BCB refusing to bind it? Or is this a runtime
loading problem? The .rc probably contains several types
of resources. Is this problem common to all of them or just
one resource?
