Hello todos,

I've been forced to leave Microsoft Windows and Office products.

The reasons are

1) Microsoft Windows is far too vulnerable to virus and worm attacks.

2) Cost: Microsoft's licenses are too expensive

3) (maybe the most imortant issue)
I do not want to support a market monopolism and the type of
controlling (inhuman) business methods Microsoft and its allys represent.

    Please read:
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/11/18/ballmer_linux_lawsuits/
No way Balmer! We say NO !

4) Linux seems to provide all the tools that an office user needs.
Right out of the CD. No extra costs, the tools are just available
when you need'em. Nice.

     See eg. http://www.futuredesktop.org/OpenOffice.html

5) Linux has supported several 64-bits platforms (desktops and servers)
for over 2 years now, while Microsoft hesitates with its 64bits.

6) Linux has superior security, stability plus a good and friendly (non
aggressive) business model. Ref. 3.

7) Linux'iers seems to be good and creative people.
Wanna join and learn from them !

8) The Windows camp has become smaller and more restricted. Has time
stopp'ed? It's time to find a greener field.

FYI: I found the Linux and OpenOffice via
http://www.futuredesktop.org/OpenOffice.html
http://www.futuredesktop.org/how2burn.html
http://www.distrowatch.org

Thanks and goodbye.
