Win95 Won't *RESTART* from desktop

I've been pulling my hair out trying to get Win95 to restart from the desktop. It either drops me into a blank screen with a blinking cursor and no C-prompt or it gives me the message OK To Shut Down Computer... I can re-boot from the reset or cold-boot or even alt-control-del, but I can't get it to restart from the desktop. I have: Reloaded Windows 95, Reloaded MSOffice, disabled my virus scanners and any other program that runs from config.sys or autoexec.bat. Going nowhere by crazy. Any help would be largely appreciated. ....... John Bailey

this is not relevant to demon.ip.support.win95 :(
but uk.comp.os.win95 and alt.windows95 added for you :)
