I have a Creative Soundblaster 16 card (the ISA version but with PnP
drivers) running in Win95a. Has done for years - no problems. Now the
Volume Control icon has disappeared from the taskbar and attempting to
open it from the menu gives the message that there is a problem with
the sound hardware and that I should install or reactivate from the
Control Panel. However the sound card does work (CD Player for
example) but attempts to alter volume gives the error message above.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
