I've also had problems printing gifs for PSP and MsWord 2.0 on
my 500. Part of the image comes out fine but about half of the image
looks like a pointalist representation of the graphics(in equally spaced
horiz. bands alternating with bands of correctly printed graphics).
What ideas? Should I try the driver with Win3.1?

It may or may not solve your problem(s) but get the new Microsoft drivers
for the HP DeskJet 500 (v2.1). Before I installed the drivers that came
with my DeskJet when I bought it, I tried the one that came with Windows
and got random blotches all over a printed page. The new one works quite
well.

George

BTW. I've uploaded that driver to wustl a few days ago.
