Tim Olson <tolson@netexpress.net> asked me to post this in the event
it may help someone who is having the modem sound problem.  In my case
the semicolons weren't there to remove so I am still w/o sound.  

Tim's input:

I just recently had the modem sounds problem.  No sound.
I was able to fix the problem by searching for "dialsuffix" in the
registry.  Then I deleted the ; entry under the Value Data box.
Seems to work for me, I got sound back instantly.  If it works for you
could you post this solution somewhere?   I read some post about the
Rockwell chip bug when ATDT; is entered.  I think the ; somehow
confuses the Rockwell chip.
