Hey everyone,
I really need help (of both the computer and mental-counselling kind
(= )...Well here goes:
My System:
486-DX66 Intel CPU, Mode-4 EIDE HD with non-Mode-4 controller, and a
SCSI-2 Hard disc, 8 meg parity RAM and 8 meg non-parity...Diamond
stealth 64 VRAM card and SB32...
Problem: It all started when I tried to install Win95. It stuffed up
(to say the least) and I think it was because of a) display drivers
and b) HD driver.
Anyway, that's beside the point. I low-level formatted my EIDE HD and
reinstalled DOS 6.22 and then WinFW 3.11 (with VGA driver) and then
tried installing my Diamond Stealth 64 drivers (which hadn't given me
problems prior to installing Win95) but then it died. Doing setup from
DOS, it said that the problem was with display.
BUT, when I use windows and install the 64 drivers from within
windows, it gives me GPFs and also TT font errors (what are TT Font
errors????). GPFs occur normally at the low memory area and often
involve GDI.exe or the stealth driver or the KRNLMGR.386 thing...
So this could be (I think):
A) Nil-parity and parity RAM don't mix
B) Stealth 64 drivers are stuffed.
c) HD/HD controller problems.
D) Some other mysterious ailment (e.g. mad-cow dicease) has infected
my computer...but it ain't a virus (I've checked)...
Anyway, any help would be appreciated...!!!

Go back to standard VGA drivers and then try the Win 95 install. If Win 95 tries to install Stealth drivers , tell it you don't want them but to install standard VGA or SVGA drivers. Get onto to Stealth FTP (diamond.com) site and download the latest drivers, then install them.

When all else fails, read the message!
The original poster wanted Win 3.1 drivers!!!! They're available at
ftp.diamondmm.com or at most CICA mirrors:
ftp.winsite.com:/pub/pc/win3/drivers/video.
