Actually, this is more true than you know. You see, back in 1980 when
IBM was first looking for an OS for its new PC line Bill Gates told them
to go to Digital Research and use theirs. Instead a deal was made for
MS/DOS so that IBM could produce PC/DOS (which is now up to version 7).
So, the way I see it, if IBM had listened to Microsoft way back then,
then they would never have to have dealt with DOS and DOS compatiblity/
640k/single tasking problems. We would now have a way better foundation
on which to build the new OSes instead of trying to keep them compatible
with DOS. . .
