Trident Video Driver Steup

Hiya All.

I have an Olivetti Envision P75. It has a Trident 9470 graphics card
on the motherboard. I'm using the W95 standard SVGA driver due to the
correct driver not being supplied with my machine (just some patch
that causes GPFs on certain option tabs.

So after a long search I finally found what I was looking for, or so
I thought.

From Trident: the latest 9470 video driver.

  Didn't work.

From Olivetti: The OEM 9470 driver (just an earlier version of the
above).

  Didn't work.

Same problem both times, garbage on screen and the computer totally
locks up and I *have* to switch it off then on again and go into Safe
Mode.

Is it something I'm doing wrong? I go to Properties/Settings select
Change Driver and choose the supposedly compatable 9470 driver, select
close, etc. and cross fingers. Is there something else I'm missing?

So long and thanks for all the fish...

Hi Colin,

Please would you write to Trident with your problem(s). I have had
similar problems to you with new drivers, and have written to Trident
from their Web page, but they have the opinion that there are no
problems because no-one is reporting them. I sent them Dr. Watson
reports of GPFs I had with their option tabs, but they still did not
acknowledge a problem.

Cheers,

Are you using that awful Screen Manager "Patch" they supply with
OEM setups? GET RID OF IT NOW!!! You're better off using the standard
SVGA driver (Win95) 'cos it doesn't cause GPFs.
