My little brother posted this in another NG, but I thought I'd help him out by posting it here as well. If you have any ides how to help him, please let us know. Thanks! - Jennifer ----- Lone Starr <Quatermain@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:<ufTjtm5B$GA.227@cppssbbsa03>... I'm using a Gateway portable PC, a 2500 XL. It's a great system, don't get me wrong, but there's just one downfall- I can't use MS-DOS. I've got an older system which I used DOS on all the time, and still like to use it every now and then. On my portable, when I go to Restart in MS-DOS mode, it does so, but without enabling my CD-ROM. When I type D:\, I get "Invalid drive specification." And there's no "Run Applications in MS-DOS Mode" PIF on my Windows 98 desktop. I know that's what I need to run CD-ROM programs in full DOS mode, so how do I get one?
