Hello
My friend needs a software disk-doubler for his hdd.
He's got a 386-33 and a 80 mb HDD. There are several disk-doubler out there on
the market, but
Which one is the best ????
What about Xtra-drive etc....
What is positive or negative of the various Disk Doubler?
If you are using a HDD-DD or if you know something about it, please post it in
this group or to my adress below.
Thank you very much,
Andi

You can buy the whole operating system for the price of a disk doubler alone ... and you get a host of other excellent utilities to boot. Plus! DR-DOS and SuperStor together handle boot files much more smoothly than Stacker does, IMHO, although Stacker is also an excellent product.

Don't forget Microsoft DOS 6.0 will have compression for "free". (Stacker 3.0 is what I use and will continue to use) Ron ronal@telebit.com These ain't no opinions but my own! Assuming, of course that you intend to help Microsoft's cash flow by upgrading to MS-DOS 6.0 when all it seems to offer (from what I hear) is MS-DOS 5.0 with some extra utilities like drive compression that I already have. I think I'll wait for MS-DOS 7.0 before I upgrade (assuming I'm still bothering to run DOS). >(Stacker 3.0 is what I use and will continue to use) Me, too. -- "Insisting on perfect safety is for people who don't have the balls to live in the real world." -- Mary Shafer, NASA Ames Dryden ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fred.McCall@dseg.ti.com - I don't speak for others and they don't speak for me.
