I'm kinda new at this, but here's what I would do.
1. when you boot the computer hold down the f8 key. Instead of booting
into windows 95, you'll get to a screen with several options on it.
One of the options will be the ability to boot to DOS. That it!
2. At the "C:" prompt, run memmaker (if you're running DOS 6.xx) or
QEMM (made by Quarter Deck) if you've got a version of DOS that is Pre
6.xx. Memmaker will reconfigure your memory so that you get as much
lower memory as is possible. You will squeeze a few extra 'K" if you
select "custom" and tell Memaker to use the monochrome area and to
search aggessively. Depending on how many drivers and TSR's you're
running, it should get you at least 600K of lower memory to use.

I really wish I had something clever to say, but I really
don't. I'm kinda hoping you will.
While you at it, why don't you visit my home page;

When you do, send me some Email and tell me what
think of it. My address is;
