I'm in need of a small single-purpose .exe for MSDOS (not windows) that
takes a file containing entries such as: comp.os.msdos.misc 46578
and connects to the nntp server and downloads all articles in that group
from article 46579 onwards storing them on one large file (or else to
hundreds of individual files).

Yes, I've found some candidates, but I need one that will work over an
already established dial-up PPP packet driver (and not one that simulates
Ethernet). It can use my WATTCP.CFG if need be.

It's a pretty basic task, so I'd rather avoid loading a large suite
just to do this job (unless it has the advantage of being able to do the
task in the background). I suspect this might be very easy to write in
Python so if we have any python enthusiasts let me know and I'll take it
to a python newsgroup if no legacy DOS programs turn up.
