I did this once. (shorten directory names) Boy what a pain...
Unless you want to spend a couple of hours changing every
c:\windows line to c:\win in all the ini files and for many icons
in various groups, leave the windows directory alone.... In my
case, (I'm really not very bright...) I actually changed it back
to c:\windows at some later date. Don't remember why. Guess I was
just bored one day. I've even been known to reformat my hard disk
and restore everything from floppy backups just for something to
do... Guess I should really get a hobby... Maybe I'll play with
FDISK today, just for something to do!
