Re the Iomega Ditto drive.
Thanks to all posters. I finally got one from Watford, but
that's part of another story. The reported speeds look about
right for any tape on the floppy-cable (ie slow but not
impossible). Due to problems with obtaining the Ditto, I've now
also got a TapeStor 3200 available; much more expensive, but also
much faster because it has its own high-speed secondary floppy
iface. Haven't yet decided which to use. (The other will have
to either go back or find alternative employment.)
