If you are using something like OS/2's Boot Manager, you might want to make sure the partition is set to bootable. I've never tried putting DOS on a second hard disk. ***************************************************************************** Know of any employers seeking a hard working computer programmer, technician, operator? There is a way to change your config.sys on your first partition, to do different things dependant on what you want. This does no actually boot off the second partition, but you can make the system boot the way you want it, and then can swap to the 2nd partition for what ever you want to do. I recomment looking at a good DOS book. Lines simular to the following should be in your config.sys [Menu] menuitem=STANDARD,Boring normal config. menuitem=SPECIAL,Do special things. menuitem=NODEVICE,Supress loading of all device drivers. menudefault=STANDARD,10 <- 10 Seconds delay of no choice made! [STANDARD] DEVICE=C:\SYS\HIMEM.SYS DEVICE=C:\SYS\ANSI.SYS etc etc [SPECIAL] LASTDRIVE=Z BUFFERS=20 FILES=30 <any other bits an pieces> [NODEVICE] LASTDRIVE=Z Thats all that's needed. All valid commands that are normally in your config.sys, are still valid, just in different sections, similar to windows *.ini files. Hope this sort of helps. If you want more info, mail me. Justin.

(Can be done without installing OS/2) You have to create a primary partition of about 1M in additoin to the partition you already have on your first hardisk.
