Dos multitasking & GEOS

I have been wondering why GeoWorks haven't been concerned with trying to
include DOS multitasking. Even Windows has got it to a very limited extent...

Well, now I read that MSDOS 7 (or was it DR DOS 7) should support DOS
multitasking. That would solve the whole problem for GeoWorks!

I am looking forward to the day when I can run DOS software at the same time
as I'm running Geos.

Of course, the multitasking DOS will probably not be written in that compact and
elegant way we have come to expect from GeoWorks.

Cheers.

The stated opinion from GeoWorks was that multitasking of DOS programs will
become less important in the next few years, as more applications become
available for multitasking systems such as GEOS. Simply, it would be better
to have a GeoVersion of every DOS app out there (or at least the good ones)
than to have GEOS support apps written for DOS.

Perhaps. It would most likely view GeoWorks as just another DOS program,
not unlike the task switchers.

I'm looking forward to the day when I'll have no reason to run DOS software
because there will be a GEOS version of everything, with more features in a
smaller, faster, more elegant package.

Which, of course, is exactly GeoVersions are preferable. Being able to run
multiple DOS applications at once is all well and good, but you're still
running apps that are big, old, and slow. :)
