File sharing problem - help!

I have a program that writes to a "log" file on a Novell file
server, and another program (on a different PC) that reads this
log file watching for status. I open the file using sopen()
in both cases, and loaded SHARE.EXE on both PCs also. The programs
work fine when I use MS Quick 'C' for Windows, but when it's re-compiled
under C6.0A, there is a "Sharing Violation" reported by Windows (the
application that reads the file is a Windows app). It appears that
there is a difference in the runtime support of file functions
between the two packages.

Has anyone seen this? Or anyone have ideas? Thanks!

Dave

p.s. One of the programmers around here suggested that I use OpenFile()
instead; that might be OK, but I'd like to know what's wrong with
using sopen() while I'm at it.
