(like PASSWORD protection.) Thank you. While it is pretty easy to modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT to ask for a password to deter naive users, that really doesn't provide you with much protection, since anyone can boot off their own floppy in your drive and get around that problem, or just hit control-C while AUTOEXEC.BAT is running. The only password systems that work well are ones built into the BIOS boot-up routines that are on some machines. If you are worried about someone coming in and turning your machine on and you don't have a key-operated power switch, you could just hide some vital piece, like the power cord. If security is really a problem, consider trading up to a machine with a built-in password capability in the BIOS and a front panel key lock (a spy could bring their own power cord).
