  I've been approached by a local comic store owner about writing a
database application to automate his "pull list".  That is, each week
a given customer will have a list of titles they want set aside for
them before they go on the shelf.  The store owner currently has 200+
customers using this "pull list".  The lists are on notebook paper.
He also has special order lists incorporated into this process.

  He's given me a list of funtional specs for a computer program to
automate this process.  He would prefer it's done in C but due to time
constraints I think C would be too much.  I would like to use a
commercial database program but I just don't know what would be the
best package to go with.

  Are there any shareware packages similar to this available already?
Has anyone written anything like this?  Could I look at it?  Also,
what database package would any of you recommend if I go that route?
Any and all suggestions, comments, etc. appreciated!
