I am trying to get people's opinions on what is the best protected mode, that is for user programs, C and preferably C++ compiler on the market. I have heard good things about Watcom C and a few others. Please email any comments you may have on this subject. Some Background. I, together with a small team of programmers, artists and musicians are in the process of writing an arcade game. This is to be not just any ordinary arcade game but an experimental Super VGA arcade game written specifically for the Linear addressing mode of the ET4000 chipset (by the way, if anyone can tell me how best to remap this memory then please mail me.). Anyway, we are going to be programming for large amounts of memory hence we wish to use protected mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Richard Laxton, computer engineering student at UNSW, Australia u2105546@csdvax.csd.unsw.oz.au <---- small mail packets u2105546@cumulus.csd.unsw.oz.au <---- large mail packets Wndows s gr t f&r hig spe dd Com$unic*ations OS/2 Rules forever...
