Mixing C and Assembler

I am trying to merge some assembler code with a C module. I have data
defined in the C module, and data defined in the assembly module. When
I enter a routine defined in the assembly module and write some data, I
notice that data defined in the C module gets corrupted.

Anybody have any ideas as to why this is happening, or how to resolve it?

Thank you.
