Well, that *does* sound like the most likely possibility. Try booting off
a clean floppy. Format A: /S and then boot off the disk. If it works then
you've got a software problem.

If it doesn't work, try pulling the other video card, and changing your
config to mono. If it *still* doesn't work, you've got a hardware problem.

BTW, if it *is* 386MAX, you had a crash waiting to happen. Because your
VGA card can use the same address space that the mono card does.
