I would like to have some pointer on how to deal with a program
using a mouse that work on a PC, partly on another and not on a third.

I use the Zortech 3.00r4 mouse package which is MS compatible.
I think I can presume it is doing a call to int 33h.

Usually, the program is working.  I use the mouse in EGA mode and
only the commands msm_init, msm_getstatus amd msm_term.

In the machines where the system is usually working, I have a
home made pull down menuing system and separate application area
push button/edit field functions.  The whole system is working
good on my PC.

But, on one colleague machine, the menus are working, some application
functions too, but not all.  I presume in that case the driver
is returning a bad status value.  That machine has a trackball
instead of a true mouse device.  Is this relevant?

On another machine, the cursor stays at the center, like when there
is no driver at all.  I checked and that machine has a MSCMOUSE driver
that I presume is from MS-C package.  Is that driver not MSMOUSE
compatible?

Shall I remove all the msm_status calls and replace them with my
own int 33h calls?

Any help will be appreciated.
