So we have yet another problem related to Clipper and the 3Com 3Station environment. The error message provided states: "NETWORK OPEN ERROR: DBFNTX/1003 Open Error on APOX2.NTX - DOS error 4 Error 4 means not enough File Handles. As before, the Clipper application will run fine on a 386 PC connected to the same network resources as the (286) 3Station. The changes made to the 3Station's environment include: Making drive C: writable (private Start Volume) Increasing File Handles to 100 Setting environment variable CLIPPER to F75 and F075 Setting BUFFERS-35 in CONFIG.SYS Installing an EMS driver Setting SWAPPATH=E:\temp (directory does exist) So far, none of these things have helped. If anyone has any further clues I'd sure appreciate them. Thanks, and please respond by email. BobK
