I am working on a project that is too much for one single computer to handle. I am thinking about having multiple 486s to share the computing load. The problem is the communication among these computers. What is the fastest way that the computers can talk to each other? Serial is too slow, parallel port only allows "star" configuration. Where can I find info on programming ethernet cards? I would like to send and receive information directly through the ethernet card the way I do with serial ports (except a lot faster). Thank you in advance. James Choi
