There is only one chance to do all 3 things at the same time
ist to use OS/2 (warp or warp connection).
WIN 3.1 / WfW / WIN 97 have NO MULTITASKING environment and
are NOT a SYSTEM (like xWindows on UNIX).
WINDOWS-NT IS a very stabil multitasking system WITHOUT
dos-compatibility (there are a lot of games that are NOT
running unter NT in a DOS-BOX).
OS/2 has a nearly 100% DOS-compatible DOS-Box. Youz can
run WIN 3.1 or WfW with ALL 16-Bit WIN-Applications.
WIN32S-Applications wil crash sometimes (but only the
actual task, NOT the system).
You can use mutitasking environment like DeskView, but
I believe that you don't become happy with it. Such
multitasker are pretty good for normal DOS-applications,
but not for games (they'll crash very often).

Hmmm. It's a problem of the customers. They are crying for
colours (but don't need it really). They have too much money
for buying lots of MB memory and lots of GB harddisks and
processors up to 80886 (p8 .....) with 500 MHz clock.
So Microsoft give them the software and the bugs.
