Hello Fraser,

Have you ever looked at Qedit? Current version is 2.15.

OK.

FS> 2) Do split screens to edit multiple files

OK.

FS> 3) Have some sort of menu bar for functions which can appear/disappear
 FS> as necessary.

OK.

FS> 4) Have some sort of keybindings I am familiar with (emacs or
 FS> Wordstar)

Looks to me like Wordstar, but may be reconfigured.

FS> 5) Hopefully have a pop-up help screen for keybindings..

OK.

FS> two other functions I find very useful:

FS> 1) Support for a mouse so I can select text for cut/paste/delete

No.

FS> 2) Syntax directed indenting so that when I program the editor is

 FS> C-mode.

Yes. Also can check on matching pairs.

 FS> 3) A relitively robust UNDO facility.

Good enough for me.

FS> The editor DOES NOT need to have:

 FS> 1) A fancy macro language.

It has, but you don't have to use it. Although I've made a template which
writes the basic frame of a program.

FS> 2) The ability to edit huge files.

Its limit is available conventional memory.

FS> If you know of an editor that fits this description which I could

Various places to FTP it from.

Regards,

           Hans.

Have you looked at Bingo? It's my personal favorite and satisfys most all
of the questions you asked. It's available via anonymous FTP from most
msdos sites... I believe the current filename is: BE300.ZIP
