Different protocols can run of different frame types... for example...
TCP/IP runs on Ethernet_II frame type and AppleTalk runs on Ethenet_SNAP
frame type. In actual fact, you can run your IPX on any of the
frametypes. The original IPX runs on Ethernet_802.3 frametype, but the
new standard for Novell is now Ethernet_802.2 frame type.

This is not totally true... it is more a problem with the NDS
communication on 802.3 frametype. You may experience some corruption in
the NDS using 802.3 frame type, and it is best to run on 802.2.
