Remote control is going to be faster in most cases, but we've had a fair
amount of stability problems.  We implemented a remote node solution and
it's rock stable...but awfully slow.

My personal preference is for stable but slow; we're currently
approaching the speed problem from different angles - trying to optimize
our connect speeds and transfer rates, loading as many of the apps on
the remote machines as possible, optimizing search drives and paths to
reduce unnecessary server access, etc.
