Hi Everyone, I currently have a Novell 3.12 server with three ethernet cards and one token-ring card. We are about to purchase a 3COM Linkswitch 1000 switch and only have a 100MB Ethernet Card in our server. Coming out of one of the ethernet ports on the switch will be UTP Cat 5 that will connect to an Ethernet card in a Novell SAA Gateway. I want to come out of the Gateway via token-ring to our IBM 9221-170 Mainframe which has a token ring card included with the mainframe. I am trying to avoid purchasing a bridge. Several salesreps have told me the SAA Gateway should be able to contain both the Ethernet and Token-ring card and do its own bridging. My Novell server is currently doing this but it is not a SAA Gateway. Will this work?? Any information or suggestions on this subject would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks, Lori A.
