I am running a LAN to LAN connection between 2 sites. Here's the stats:
Site 1: Novell file server running Netware 3.11
3 PC's (all connecting to file server file)
Shiva Netmodem/E 28.8
Site 2: 2 PC's
Shiva Netmodem/E 28.8 (this is a router that sits on the network)
* All of the PC's on the site 1 end connect to file server fine.
* The file server has a 5 user license.
* Both networks are properly terminated
* Computers on both ends can talk to the Shiva units on their ends
* The Shiva units are correctly connected and have obtained a connection
(confirmed by Shiva technical support)
The ERROR message that I am getting is :
Shell-332-22: Network Server IN-TOUCH has no free connection slots. No known
file server.
This proves that machines at site 2 are getting the name of the server from
it, so I doubt it is a coubling or a connection problem.
I thought maybe the Shiva's weren't routing IPX properly, but the Shiva guy
assured us that it is.
The weird thing is that everything worked fine until we moved the server
and 2 PC's from site 2 to site 1.
The only bit of rumor I have heard about this is that there is some NLM
that fixes a bug in 3.11 that forces clients to drop connections.
(something about Netware 3.11 storing ethernet addresses in memory or on
disk and not allowing connections to those addresses until the first is dropped.)
Anyways, any help on this issue is critical, please email me a copy if you
post to this news group.
Any help is appreciated!
Matthew
