has anyone done this?  i have a package that looks like it will only
support an Xcelan nic.  i have tried loading the NCSA packet driver but
that is not enough.  the dang thing is looking for an .exe file to be
loaded and that file will only talk to an Xcelan card.

this is an older release, r3.5, that i just want to play around with and
maybe learn something.

another question:  can the tcp/ip stack from PCNFS be used
independently?  if yes, would it provide any useful functionality?
