MegaHertz XJEM3288 & losing net connection

I've got 30+ laptop users that connect to the net with Megahertz XJEM3288
PC Cards. I thought these would be a Good Idea(tm), 1 card does both
modem & net. They were -interesting- to get to work in the ThinkPads,
then the REAL trouble started. These cards use a short little dongle to
go between the card and the net. Unfortunately the plastic in the card
connecter is quite fragile, breaking with almost the slightest touch.
Then, if you get the connector in the card w/o breaking it, a pretty
slight sideways shift of the cord and the connector comes loose. Of
course, this kills the net connection, causing loss of documents, sleep,
hair, etc. I would install the Client 32 on these laptops (and gain the
auto-reconnect) but I'm planning on putting Netware Mobile on the laptops
(assuming I find time to test it, reconfig my Netware connect, and it
works...).

I assume others are using these cards - I hope that someone is using them
with more success than we are. If so, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
What are you doing to keep the connector connected? Suggestions? Hints?
Help? (Megahertz has been quite unresponsive to my email, calls, etc.
Even my reseller doesn't get that good of a response).

Thanks in advance for your time and attention.
