Implemented our new Pentium server using the 3Com's FastEtherlink XL adapter (3C905-TX). Worked great in a test environment. Put it in production over the weekend & all was well. However after our 300+ users started hammering it the server stopped communicating to the network by lunchtime this past Monday. The server was fine, I could toggle to any of it's console screens, just no communications. Monitor showed me the ECB count was rising steadily. Restarted server & experienced the same problem in 5 min., however none of the monitor stats for the adapter was changing. Had to drop back to our old server for production purposes. Anyone else using this adapter in an NW4.1 environment? I'd be interesting in hearing your experiences to help me sort this out. Currently runing latest NLM's found in LANDR9 & latest drivers from 3COM. TIA, Dan Rockwell

Been running 50 some days in this configuration and we have more than one server like this. -jim

Jim, Thanks for your reply to my question. We are also running the 410pt6 patch on our server. Quick question: Are you using IRQ 9 or IRQ 7? This is our first outing with PCI & we were told rumors that IRQ 9 should not be used when PCI adapters are in your environment. I was only aware that IRQ 15 should not be used with NetWare. Anyway, I would appreciate your thoughts on this. TIA, Dan Daniel G. Rockwell, Network Administrator GANCOM, Camp Hill, PA In article <330275F0.5124@kpmg.com>, JWilleke@kpmg.com says... > >Daniel G.
