Unix Print Services 2.1 for NW4

Hello,

I am currently using NW4.1 and running Unix Print Services 2.1 to
handle Unix to Netware Printing. We are not using any of its other
features at this time. It is working fine all print jobs get to where
they were sent and so on.

The problem I am running into could best be labeled as a preformace
issue. It seems that there are only ever 4 Unix_Service_Handler
accounts login to the server. When five print jobs are sent to the
server via LPR or our Mainframe one right after the other, the fith
print job always comes back 'connection refuesed by host'. If you
resend it right away it goes, but if you send other print after that
the connection is refused again. This pattern continues unless you
wait for about 20 sec. after the last print job.

I believe that what is happening is that the server can only handle
about four print jobs from Unix to Netware connection at a time and
once you reach that limit the connections are held open so that the
next incomming print job's connection is refused. Just a guess at this
point.

I have been looking through the documentation looking for some setting

that I can change to allow more connection or to allow the print job
connection to clear at a faster rate. This is a big problem for us as
we need to be able to send many different print jobs from the main
frame quickly.

Our NW 4.1 server seems to be running fine there are no other know
issues and the CPU usage ranges from 0% to 5% at times.

We were using Flex/Con on NW3.1 and it worked fine we would get at
time 16 logins, one for each of our print Queues. I just do not
believe that UPS 2.1 is cofigured correctly for our needs and I am at
a loss on what to adjust to fix this problem.

Any suggest would help.

Thanks...
