Okay, I just moved my primary 4.1 server to new hardware (was on ProLiant 2000, now on ProLiant 5000). New server has more RAM, same HD space as old server. Same copy of Netware, NFS Services, etc. Used DSMAINT to move NDS to the server (as per readme with DSMAINT). Have applied all patches and updates to new server that I could find, thought this was a prime opportunity to do so. 410PT6 was unable successfully patch SERVER.EXE, when I tried running the patched version it would hang w/o even starting to load NW, so I backed it off. I have a -pressing- need to have an SCO Unix box print to a NW Queue on this server (I have other UNIX boxes that need to print as well, just not as pressing as this one), using a specific NW print job to add codes to switch the LJ5si to Line Printer font, VMI 5.4, etc. It worked with the old server (the old server had all the same patches applied, including 410PT6). Now, when I send an lpr job to -any- exported print queue that has a specific device & print job attached to it, error messages like the following appear in the audit.log file, and the print job is dumped to dev/null: 10-03-96 11:43:54am PLPD-Error-720: Unable to add re-initialization printer codes to the file(s) autoexec.bat. LPR request sent by klest on klest. 10-03-96 11:43:54am PLPD-Error-655: Unable to transfer the print job to the queue. Reason: Unknown error Queue: catsalias File: autoexec.bat I'm guessing that for some reason, the daemon is unable to read the printer codes defined for the specific print job. I've deleted and re-imported the printer .def files, I've deleted and re-created the print job definitions - no joy. I can nprint jobs using the print job definitions and they come out fine. I've removed and reinstalled NFS Services (twice) - no joy. I've even run DSREPAIR a couple of times, thinking that the whole DSMAINT process hacked up the directory - no joy. I've got NFS Services working for NFS Mounts, DNS, Lock Manager, etc. I can even LPR jobs to exported queue IF I don't attach a specific print job to the queue. Any ideas? Any ideas why 410PT6 won't run on a ProLiant 5000 (Pentium Pro problems?)? ????
