Anyone else run into this > kind of problem running two EISA cards together in the same system? I've never encountered inherent problems running multiple NICs on an EISA bus. One of my clients runs four 16mbps Token-ring networks off of one Dell PowerEdge EISA box. What I have encountered in my past is Accton's lame engineering, though. I once maintained a PoS/2 model 80 on a LAN with one Ethernet and one 4mbps Token-ring. The Ethernet side was using an Accton NIC, and the server constantly abended, lost connections, etc. This was not a powerful or demanding machine, remember - a 386/20 with Microchannel bus. We replaced the Accton NIC with a 3Com 3C523 (made no other changes) and everything was fine thereafter. From that point on I never used an Accton NIC in anything more demanding than old workstations. I think Accton tech support is making excuses for an inferior product. --------------------------------------------- Paul Tichy (713) 486-8337 Senior Network Engineer, Phoenix Data Systems Houston, TX USA ptichy@mailserv.phoenix.net #include <std.disclaimer> (Opinions expressed are purely my own)
