I'm working on a small Netware 4.1 network (12 workstations).
We had been running with the VLM client 1.20 without incident
for several weeks. However, due to a software compatibility issue
it became necessary to change all the workstations to using NETX
and bindery emulation.
Subsequent to this change, the fileserver has been crashing
repeatedly. It has been running tight on memory (43% available)
due to problems with the system's memory expansion card, but this
caused no problem running VLM clients. (The server is an Intel
"Deskside-X" 486-50 EISA system. It has 16 Meg on the motherboard
and uses an expansion card for additional SIMMs.)
Are there any known problems with bindery emulation mode
that would cause this, or does using NETX drive up memory
usage on the server? (We are running with the 410PT2.EXE
patches and latest PSERVER.)
Thanks in advance for any info...
