Except.....

There seems to be a problem with configuring a host name for the local PC -
I can't find a way to do it. This causes problems with programs that need to
get the PC's IP address, since the usual hack is to do a gethosthame() call
to get your own name, then a gethostbyname() on that to get your IP address.
gethostname() on LWP 5.0 returns a null string, which is rather hard to
look up. The Winsock 1.1 spec specifically states: "However, it is guaranteed
that the name returned will be successfully parsed by gethostbyname()..."

Since this is not the case, I'd have to say that LWP 5.0 is *not* 100%
compliant, and will break some apps that run fine on other stacks.
