The 3COM 3C509 cards are fast for workstations but are generally not recommended for use in Netware servers. The speed of the card is derived from the fact that is constantly interrupts the CPU and does virtually no onboard processing of data packets. This tends to upset Netware servers that like nice orderly incoming data. Novell have a few articles in NSEPRO stating VERY VERY specific revisions of the 3C509 card drivers to be used in Netware servers. You may be better off with another card (NE2000, SMC, etc.) that is supposedly slower but moree suited to use in servers. In article <3u3ia9$a2v@shade.ehnr.state.nc.us>, Don.Gillaspie@deh.ehnr.state.nc.us (Don Gillaspie) says: > >Have you loaded the latest drivers? >ftp://ftp.3com.com/pub/adapters/drivers/3c59xx.exe > > > > >In article <3u037m$o7p@mozart.telegate.se>, > Berndt Hybner <bhybner@kdt.se> wrote: >>We are installing a new P100 server with 3.12 and are experiencing a >>weird problems not seen before here.
