And so have I, and MAS90 is not perfectly stable when things go amiss, and it never tells you anything until too late. One of its foibles is its memory requirement. Using pick lists in deeply embedded menus an modules consumes memory voraciously. It's my policy to have at least 590k free on the workstation when MAS90 is launched. This pretty much precludes launching it from Windoze unless QEMM is installed due to the practical memory constraints in virtual DOS boxes. A MAS90 requirement is that Share *must* be installed on the workstation. I've seen a user or two remove it and have problems crop up. Another potential problem is that it needs the best, most stable Novell drivers. IPX.COM is right out, and ODI drivers should be the latest and greatest. (Haven't had the courage to try messing with VLM's on the company accounting system). I've seen old IPX.COM workstations corrupt data with nary a word from MAS90. All in all, it's so frail that I wouldn't understand why it's such a popular accounting package except for taking into account that IS staff never choose the company accounting package. ============================================= Paul Tichy (713) 486-8337 Senior Network Engineer, Phoenix Data Systems Houston, TX USA ptichy@mailserv.phoenix.net =============================================
